This thread of the blog is about social aspects of hearing loss. Its about the impacts on our daily living and those around us with whom we try to communicate. It will be personal, anecdotal and observational. It will be about family, friends, health care workers, planes, trains, and automobiles.
What that means is that my thoughts here are not intended to be scholarly, heavily researched social studies for the hard of hearing. Instead they are my thoughts and observations about what we experience with hearing loss. Nevertheless, it is my hope that they will be interesting and even helpful.

Where to start? Let’s start with this. Hearing loss is isolating, depressing, frustrating, exhausting and frightening. That’s how it is for the friends and family around us. Hope to have many opportunities here to note…
